Services & Policies

Plant Holding Policy

We will hold plant material purchased in person for 24 hours to allow time to arrange transportation. We do not place items on hold over the phone; plants are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Nursery Stock Guarantee

Hardy evergreens, trees, and shrubs are guaranteed for one year at 100% of the purchase price. Plants will be replaced once. The original register receipt is required, and the dead plant must be returned for diagnosis. Photos are not accepted.

Exceptions (not covered):

  • Groundcovers
  • Perennials
  • Roses over winter
  • Living Christmas trees
  • Houseplants
  • Plants planted in containers
  • Bonsai

Additional exclusions:

  • Sale or discounted plants
  • Plants affected by insects or disease after leaving our premises
  • Plants that have been handled negligently

No cash refunds on guaranteed plant material— Credit will be issued if the replacement plant is not in stock.

We are a N.C. certified nurseryand are inspected regularly.

Our Story

Our family business began in 1982, when Jesse Israel—along with his sons David and Lonnie and their families—won the bid to run the Garden Center at the WNC Farmers’ Market. Today, Jesse’s grandson Alan and his wife Heather carry on the family business as third-generation owners, alongside family and staff across the Garden Center’s departments.
